Dinner with Hillary anyone?

I got an e-mail today from Bill, yes from Bill, saying that two lucky people can win dinner with Hillary! She also has this huge campaign debt that she needs help with. I donated $5.00 to that cause, and registered my name. The big guy in the house here would be so proud, (ardent Hillary supporter but now on the Obama bandwagon), to have dinner with Hillary Clinton. It would be the ultimate prize for him for sure. Someone has got to win, why not us? Marc still says that Obama can't win without her on the ticket as VP! But I'm not so sure.............
I scored major savings at Walgreens today. I bought, ready for this? 4 boxes of cereal, 3 shaving gels, 5 2 liter bottles of soda, 2 laundry detergents, 4 disposable gloves, 1 tube of toothpaste, 2 packages of cookies. All regular size items too........price on shelf for all about $57.00, savings, 34.00, paid only 23.00 for everything. The best part, we USE all that stuff, because I will NOT buy anything with coupons that I don't already use. I am flexible on brand though. However, I have not gone wrong with anything that I have tried.
I had a wonderful day today. The people in my life are awesome, and they know who they are...... I am glad to be alive today. In spite of all the problems in the world, the sun is shining, the plants on my balcony are pretty and growing, and there is nothing I can't handle without help from above! Oh and another good thing, the jeans that did not fit me two months ago, well they now fit! Maybe I will wear them tomorrow, and perhaps take a picture....stay tuned!

Another One?

Max is eating another Greenie. I think he is addicted to them . Glad I got that free sample at www.greenies.com. Because he is so fussy, I was glad to see that he liked them, but I'm not so sure that he needs more than one a day? it makes his breath so sweet though! Today, I was able to take the day very slowly, kind of break it up into manageable parts! I actually got to lay down after a wonderful dinner, cuddling with little Max. This morning I got a phone call from my friend Carol, and then tonight from Susan. Susan was tellling me that she likes organic eggs, believe me, I would lke to do it, but that would be too costly for me right now. I am really too tired to continue writing this... so I'll make an effort to write tomorrow. Thank you God for a blessed day!

Freaky bug!

I don't expect to be awake past 12:00 am, but I probably will be. Today, I did a lot for everyone, as usual. I took my son out for his driving lesson, and did not press on the imaginary brake. I think he was happy about that! He did a pretty good job, and I am proud of him. I took Lauren to get the guitar hero game for her birthday, which is not for two weeks. What is nice about that game, and i look forward to actually playing it, is that i can unwind and listen to my favorite music from the past, like "Poison -Talk Dirty to Me" and the kids like it too! I expect to try the game myself, why not? I did pay for it...i deserve a shot. Don't I??
OK, so the freaky bug was cool, and David and I really enjoyed looking at it. Only in Florida! Here is a picture!

I am glad to be alive today, with so many friends that I can share with. I had a little mishap with the car, but it seems that it is something minor. There's a piece of plastic hanging from the bottom of the car, so I need to take it in and have it bolted back up. On the downside today, I almost cried when something did not go my way, but positively I have to believe that my higher power will take care of it. Deals of the day: I got free box of honey bunches of oats from "buy none get one free promotion "(coupon in the mail) and All 2x for 2.99 - it's a little tiny bottle, but they say that it works. Did not buy potato chips - not on sale - but i think they shoud be on sale tomorrow. obsessed, could be? want the most for my money? Definitely!

Lovely Monday!

I have accomplished much today! I was a little irritable today, so I hope tomorrow will be better.
I took David to the dermatologist. He's on antibiotics for his acne, as well as another medication, Benzaclin. I've been this route before for me, not too long ago. He's only 16 and i am 42 though. My skin is looking great! I am using proactive now, because the kids did not want to use it anymore. I actually have a prescription for Retin A Micro, but don't think I'll be renewing it for a while as it is expensive. I still have some left, and feel that I should use it on my forehead to see if it will help with some small acne bumps! Dinner was great tonight. We had grilled chicken, yuca, green beans, and those wonderful Israeli cucumbers - with Maries Jalapeno Ranch dressing (this is me and big guys favorite dressing - we ask the Winn Dixie stores to stock it). My reflection on today: While I am not a religious person, the presence of God was with me tonight while I was walking my dog. We have been given so much, and this earth is so beautiful, how can you not appreciate it?

End of the Day Reflections

it is 9:40 pm. I am so excited because Mad Men Season premiere is coming on in 20 mins!! This is one of the shows, I think is super smart, seductive, and worth my time. I totally reccomend it! I did a lot for the family today, but I think one of the things that I am happiest about, is that I showed my beautiful teenage daughter how to save money using coupons. She laughs at me, but when she sees what she can get......and now that she earns a little money with the summer job, she may want to learn these techniques. Also, I will be showing them how to balance a check book, all in due time. I am happy to be alive today because I saw my little dog laying on my bed all peaceful and everything. This is the first dog that we have owned, that we have been able to really enjoy as part of our family. We had a sick dog for over two years, and before that he had a temper problem. We've had Max since Christmas. He is turning one yr old on July 29th. HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAX! I love you so much!!!!

Sunday!

Today was a glorious day of "non"rest and I am full of gratitude for all the blessings bestowed on me and my family. First of all, thank God for my intelligence...and my ever increasing good health! It has been over 60 days since I have eaten the no-nos for me. Sugar, flour, and wheat products. I am grateful. I spent a little time with the coupons today, well more than a little time! However, I did buy everything that we need for this week, and i saved about 50% doing it! I ran to my favorite market, Penn Dutch, where they have the savings of $5.00 off when you sepend $100.00. But, I did not need to spend $100.00 this week , so I didn't! We really got some yummies this week, though. There's a fresh pineapple, and star fruit, plus Lauren's favorite tangerines. I do regret not getting more of the starfruit, but I wanted to give it a try first. I think this week, we'll have to have a hot dog night - things are getting pretty tight! Everytime i read the Miami herald, there is always a piece on shopping smart and saving money, and this weekend was no exception. I read a piece about knowing how to buy produce. The story said that the average American family throws away quite a bit of fresh produce. I am not shocked by this!!!! Really, you have to plan before you do it, and only get what you need. Good price on milk this week - Walgreens had it for $3.69 per gallon, and Winn dixie is 4.49 per gallon. This running to multiple stores can be tiring, but I am proud that I am using my head, and getting less screwed by the stores. It takes work, but it is worth it.

Caffeinated!

I'm up! So much to do, so little time to do it! I made the most wonderful lamb chops tonight on the George Foreman grill tonight. I buy my meat at Penn Dutch meats....they are the bomb! We so love that store......not only the best meat prices, but friendly service. Last week we had tuna steaks.....and those were amazing too! We also love our cashier.... Timmy!!! I'll be doing lots of planning this weekend, so i can save money on our groceries. I'll be looking at www.couponmom.com and www.grocerygame.com. My kids love the fact that I save money on their special items, and they never run out of food. I have only been going shopping once a week for the most part! over two months ago, I was shopping every three days, and always running out of stuff. My husband and I don't eat sugar, flour or wheat products, so our groceries cost us a little more, however for a family of 4 we are spending about $200/wk, which is down from $350.00 almost. And we have a full freezer! if you live in S. Florida, check out Penn Dutch, tomorrow the boneless chicken breasts are on sale for $1.39 per pound. I love that store (oh i said that already). Keep coming back!

My Little baby

I'm so tired because my little baby Max was sleeping next to me all night, and he is all of 6 pounds, but generates a lot heat and takes up a lot of space - surprisingly!

Obama Bumper Sticker

My husband, who is and was an ardent Hillary supporter hijacked my bumper sticker today. He said where can I get one? I gave him mine! I am such a nice wife, huh? Anyway, I am so proud of him coming on board! May we have what this country deserves, a new president who is actually for the good of the people. Only time will tell, but our family is definitely on board!
